LSG has a stronger bowling lineup than GT. Both teams are top-heavy with their batting formations and prone to losing early wickets. A drop in runs from Gill and Pandya has put the Gujarat Titans under a lot of pressure and exposed some weaknesses.

LSG played their previous match against KKR and recorded a tough 75-run win. All the more impressive is the fact that, despite KL Rahul being phased out, the win came without the threat of delivery. GT has had a lot of success at IPL 2022 by supporting their bowling lineup. Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Shami and Pradeep Sangwan all bowled well and Alzarri Joseph also put in some good performances.

It might hurt team balance a little not being able to count on Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatia for at least a couple of overs in every match, but that won't change in this match either.
