KKR has undoubtedly been the most consistent team this season. Despite the last two matches being washed out due to rain, the team confidently finished at the top of the points table.
This season for KKR has been the Sunil Narine show. The West Indies veteran has showcased his outstanding play this season, putting on an incredible display with the bat, scoring 461 runs at a strike rate of 182.93, making him the top scorer for his team. He has also taken 15 wickets.
With Phil Salt no longer available, KKR is likely to bring in Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who can be equally destructive.
The middle order has also performed well, with players like Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, and Ramandeep Singh having several runs under their belts. The batting lineup is very deep, thanks to the presence of Rinku Singh and Andre Russell in the lower order.
Both these players are also capable of hitting big from the first ball.
As for bowling, Varun Chakaravarthy is the top wicket-taker with 18 wickets, and he will be supported by Narine. The seam attack, consisting of Harshit Rana, Mitchell Starc, and Andre Russell, is also quite reliable.
The sharp end of the IPL 2024 season is already here, and we think that prominent players like Mitchell Starc and Andre Russell will elevate their game even further. However, the key will be Narine and Chakaravarthy in the middle.
In each of the last three seasons, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have finished third. However, this season they have achieved a brilliant result, securing second place in the table.
Much of the team’s success can be attributed to the debut pairing of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. The duo has formed an incredible partnership and will again be key for SRH. Both players have played fearlessly and have been destructive when they got going.
However, the middle order’s performance has not been the best, but the addition of Rahul Tripathi at the number 3 spot seems to have helped SRH find balance. SRH chased 215 without a single contribution from Travis Head in the previous match. Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy are in good form and will support the bowling attack against KKR.
SRH also boasts a strong pace attack featuring T. Natarajan, Pat Cummins, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, their spin attack is practically non-existent. Like KKR, SRH has experienced players who can thrive on the big stage.
Pat Cummins has won everything there is to win over the last year or so. He will be crucial for SRH with his bowling skills and leadership qualities.
There is very little difference between the two teams, but the fact that KKR hasn't played a match in almost ten days might work against them. SRH, on the other hand, is improving the balance of their team and may peak at just the right time.
