Bangalore still sits at the bottom of the table among the 10 teams, but they’ve managed to put behind them six consecutive losses and recently secured back-to-back victories against the Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. It will take considerable effort for them to get it right, but Bangalore can continue their fight for their first IPL title. Virat Kohli recently surpassed Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai to become the leading run-scorer of this year’s IPL. Kohli, however, remains the top run-scorer for RCB this season with exactly 500 runs in 10 innings at an average of 71. Faf du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik have been supporting Kohli admirably. Yuzvendra Chahal’s eight wickets in this IPL season and six each from Mohammed Siraj and Cameron Green show that Bangalore has relied on their bowlers. Siraj should be full of confidence in this match after recently being included in the Indian squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The Titans, who won the IPL title in 2022, have only secured two victories in their last five matches this year. They will face a tough challenge against their opponent, whom they lost to by nine wickets a few days ago. Let’s see if Gujarat can continue to fight and ultimately break into the top half of the points table. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill have been the top run-scorers for the Titans in IPL 2024. Sudharsan recently scored 84 runs against RCB and prior to that, 65 runs against the Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Gill will once again look to lead by example with the bat as captain. Mohit Sharma has taken 10 wickets for Gujarat in this IPL season. However, his recent performances have been costly. He averages 36 runs conceded per wicket with an economy rate of 11. Rashid Khan has been relatively consistent, taking eight wickets in IPL 2024, and remains one of the tournament’s standout performers.
