Delhi has only secured two victories in their last five matches. They lost to the Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders before defeating the Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants, but then lost to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Let’s see if they can get back on track here. Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stabbs have been Delhi’s top scorers in this IPL season – with 254 and 199 runs respectively. Pant and Stabbs have scored at a strike rate of over 150 per 100 balls, but both have struggled to truly excel in their recent outings against SRH. The Capitals’ captain and the South African newcomer will be looking to make a bigger impact this time around. In the bowling department, the Capitals have relied heavily on Khalil Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav. This season they have taken 10 wickets each. Ahmed is one of the top left-arm pacers in the tournament. Yadav is one of the most effective left-arm spinners in world cricket. Together, they have been outstanding.
The Titans, like the Capitals, have lost three out of their last five matches. However, they have won two out of their last three, so there are signs of improvement for the champions of the 2022 Indian Premier League, as they continue to vie for their second title in the third year of their existence. Stepping up as captain and evidently thriving in the role, Shubman Gill has emerged as Gujarat’s leading run-scorer this season. He has scored 298 runs in eight innings, averaging 43. Sai Sudharsan has provided reliable support to his captain, amassing 269 runs in eight innings. Whether in the starting lineup or as a substitute, Mohit Sharma has been the Titans’ top bowler in this IPL season with 10 wickets in seven innings. As for spin, Rashid Khan has once again delivered for Gujarat with eight wickets. He has also taken some really good catches and contributed with the bat.
