Olympiacos is having a historic season in European competitions, but in the Greek Super League, things are going much worse for the “Red-Whites”. Currently, Olympiacos occupies the fourth place in the championship group, with 70 points. However, Olympiacos has one game in hand, a win in which automatically elevates them to second place. If Olympiacos wins all three remaining Super League matches, they will become the champions of Greece. In the last 5 matches of the Greek Super League, Olympiacos has collected 13 points, dropping points only in the match against Aris (1-1). In the previous round of the Conference League, Jose Luis Mendilibar’s team defeated Fenerbahce in a penalty shootout.
Unai Emery’s team, like Olympiacos, is surprising in this season. It’s hard to believe, but Aston Villa only needs to win one of their two remaining matches in the English Premier League to definitively secure a top-4 spot and their first Champions League qualification since 1982. However, Aston Villa faces serious opponents in these matches – Liverpool and Crystal Palace. Recently, the Lions’ form has left much to be desired. Besides the defeat to Olympiacos in the first leg, they lost away to Brighton 0-1 in the previous round, and also missed out on victory against Chelsea in a home match, drawing 2-2.
