Argentina’s national team has won twice gold and twice silver in the Olympic Games in its history. Last time a South American team was pleased with the results in 2008. In China the “blue-white” won all six matches, while scoring 11 goals. At the last Olympics in Brazil, Fernando Batista’s wards failed to leave the group in which they took only third place, losing to Portugal and Honduras only in additional indicators, with which they played their last official match (1:1).
The French national team was not going to the tournament easily. The head coach of the team, Sylvain Ripoli, called 22 people under the flags of the Olympic team, but several players were not allowed to go to the clubs, citing the refusal by the start of the national championships. However, in line-up the Blues look very confident and are the main contenders for qualifying from the group. It is noteworthy that three players over 23 years old, who are allowed according to the regulations, are much older than the permissible parameters of the youth squad, while Andre-Pierre Gignac from Mexican Tigres has already exchanged 35 years.
