The “Red Devils” once again failed to contend for Champions League spots. Currently, Manchester United sits in sixth place in the league table, trailing the top 4 teams by a significant 13 points. The only silver lining for Manchester United fans was their advancement to the FA Cup final. In the semifinals, Manchester United managed to win 3-0 but conceded three goals in response from Coventry, one of which came in the 90+5th minute. The fate of the spot was ultimately decided in a penalty shootout, which favored Manchester United. However, in the league, after four winless matches, Manchester United finally secured three points. Nonetheless, it wasn’t without its challenges. Facing Sheffield United, the “Red Devils” found themselves trailing 1-2 but managed to come back and secure a 4-2 victory.
Burnley returned to the Premier League last season but seems destined for the Championship once again. Currently second from bottom, Burnley is only seven points ahead of Sheffield United. At the same time, the gap between Burnley and the safety zone, led by Vincent Kompany’s team, is three points.
