Dinamo modestly started the new Croatian championship, earning only 4 points in the first three rounds, which places them in the current 6th position in the league table. However, they secured the Super Cup of the country by defeating “Hajduk” (1:0). The European campaign began in the second qualifying round of the Champions League, where Zagreb easily dealt with Kazakhstan’s “Astana” (4:0, 2:0).
AEK hasn’t played any official matches in the current season yet. In the previous season, they achieved a league and cup double. In the championship, they had a 5-point lead over the nearest competitor, and in the Greek Cup final, they defeated PAOK (2:0). In the first of their friendly matches this summer, they lost to Zagreb’s “Lokomotiva” (0:1), after which they secured victories against “Antwerp” (3:0), Ukrainian “Shakhtar” (5:0), “Volos” (3:0), and “Trabzonspor” (3:1).
