Last season, the “Blades” pleasantly surprised and fought for a long time to enter the European cups, but after leaving the quarantine they lost their teamwork and eventually finished in a decent ninth place. It seems that this year, under the leadership of Chris Wilder “Sheffield” will continue in the same spirit, but the club fails this season and is in last place in the standings of the elite division of England. It is already clear that Sheffield has one foot in the Championship and, therefore, the management of the club in mid-March dismissed Wilder as head coach. Under the leadership of acting mentor Paul Hackingbott, the Blades lost to Leeds last week (1:2) and are 15 points behind the saving 17th line 8 rounds before the end of the championship. This is more than Sheffield scored in 30 rounds, so the chances are only in theory, but in practice the club expects a demotion.
The Magpies have not known the joy of victories since February 6th, when they managed to beat Southampton (3:2). True, the last draw with Tottenham (2:2), pulled out at the end of the match, encourages the club’s fans. Newcastle are currently in 17th position, being three points ahead of the relegation zone, but again, there are two games left over Fulham. Steve Bruce’s wards do not play at all on a visit in recent meetings, having three defeats in the last four meetings and one goal scored. Laskelles, Fraser, Hayden, Cher are in the club’s infirmary. Andy Carroll has already started training after a calf injury, but his participation in the next match is in doubt.
