Oleksandr Usyk was the undisputed world champion in the cruiserweight division until 2019. At the amateur level, the Ukrainian has an Olympic gold, world championship, and European championship titles in his collection. The 38-year-old Simferopol native has a record of 20 wins (13 by knockout) and no losses. In his recent fights, he twice defeated the British boxer Anthony Joshua (unanimous and split decisions). Prior to that, he defeated the Englishman Derek Chisora (unanimous decision), American Chazz Witherspoon (knockout), Tony Bellew from the UK, as well as Russia’s Murat Gassiev (unanimous decision).
Daniel Dubois is a mandatory contender for the WBA title. He has a collection of victories and various honors from international tournaments and national championships in the amateur ranks. In his last fight, the Briton defeated Kevin Lerena from South Africa. Prior to that, in June 2022, after defeating American Trevor Bryan (knockout), he won the WBA regular belt. The 25-year-old Greenwich native has a record of 19 wins (18 by knockout) and one loss.
