Elina Svitolina is holding a very difficult tournament in Tokyo. In three of four matches in the capital of Japan, the Ukrainian tennis player played three sets. In hot and humid conditions, this is a very serious test, which Elina manages to cope with. In the opening matches, Svitolina had not the most difficult rivals Siegemund and Tomljanovic. However, to win over them, it took three sets to play. The real test awaited Elina in the 1/8 finals, a duel against Maria Sakkari. In that match the Ukrainian tennis player was not a bookmaker’s favorite, but due to her character and willpower she snatched a victory (6-7, 6-3, 6-4). In the quarterfinals with Camila Georgie, everything turned out much easier for the Ukrainian (6-4, 6-4).
Last season “Vasco da Gama” failed to stay in the main tournament in Brazil. The team managed to get only 10 wins, which brought a ticket to the second league and 41 points. In the current championship of the second league, the breakthrough team recorded six victories and four draws after 14 rounds, which brought 22 points and sixth place.
