The Mexican national team is the winner of the football tournament at the 2012 Olympics. Games in England brought Jose Rodriguez’s wards the first serious awards at a tournament of this level. Then the “tricolors” won the group round, after which they defeated Senegal in the quarterfinals (4:2). In the semi-finals with Japan (3:1) and in the final they left no chances for Brazil (2:1). Already at the next Olympics, the Greens did not even manage to get out of the group.
The South Korean national team was very responsible for the 2012 Olympics. The Asian team confidently passed the group stage, in which they won one victory and two draws in three rounds, which brought five points and the second position. After that, the Korean team beat Great Britain, but failed to cope with Brazil in the semifinals. The Olympic Games in Rio brought access to the playoffs, where Honduras was waiting for the Korean squad, which stopped the national team with a score of 1:0.
