Tampa reached the Cup final in great shape and the team, albeit with difficulty, prevailed over the Islanders in the series with a score of 4:3. During the semi-finals the Lightning showed excellent play, especially in the attack. In one of the fights John Cooper’s wards completely defeated the Islanders (8:0). In the first final match “Lightning” were again the main contenders for victory and fully met the expectations of fans. Tampa beat Montreal 5-1, proving once again that they are the best attacking team in the NHL at the moment.
Panama’s national team made its debut at the last World Championship in Russia for the first time, which is still the team’s best achievement in these tournaments.
