Since they were brought down to bare bones in their opening fixture, Sydney Thunder have gone on to clinch victories in their subsequent two matches. They will be heading into this Boxing Day fixture in good spirits, thanks to their seven-wicket win over Perth Scorchers last time out. Looking comfortable all through the game, the Thunder restricted the opposition to just 152-5, even chasing down this target with relative ease. Their bowling has been exceptional, with Adam Milne leading the way on this front. Also putting in good shifts, the duo of Nathan McAndrew and Ben Cutting delivered top-drawer performances. However, Daniel Sams was expensive in that game, failing to stamp his authority. Surely, ST will be expecting more from the talented bowler here.
Last year guests of this meeting were able to get for themselves the seventh place in the conference in 72 games, which allowed them to reach Toronto in the playoffs. The team did not manage to win it in four matches. They never made it through the first round of the final stage. Three victories before the start of the season in preparation say that the Bostonians intend to spend this season as well as the previous one.
