After the restart of the season, Lajovich could not find his game for a long time. Since mid-June the Serbian tennis player has amassed nine defeats in a row. An unsuccessful streak was interrupted just recently at a tournament in Rome, where Lajovich managed to reach the third round of the competition. In Italy Dusan defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokin (6-4, 6-4) and Milos Raonic (7-6, 4-6, 6-2). According to the game shown by the Serb, he could safely count on the quarterfinals or even the semifinals in Rome, if not for the meeting with the king of clay Rafael Nadal in the third round of the tournament. Lajovich was unable to oppose anything to the eminent Spaniard and lost to him in two games (1-6, 3-6).
Basilashvili still cannot find his game after the season resumes. In total, starting in July, the representative of Georgia had six fights and none of them has been won by him. Moreover, in all the matches played, Basilashvili failed to take at least a set from his opponents. It is possible that Nikoloz is worried about some kind of injury or thus he was affected by a long lack of proper playing practice. Perhaps everything will change on clay courts, on Basilashvili’s favorite surface.
