Spartak

Dinamo started in the Champions League qualification back in early July. The superiority in the class over the Icelandic “Valur” was obvious and Damir Krznar’s team did not have any problems. With a total score of 5:2 the opponent was defeated. The Blues also coped with Omonia quite easily. The 2:0 home and 1:0 away wins ensured Dinamo a pass to the next round.

Benfica

Last season Benfica returned to the post of head coach Jorge Zhezos. Many expensive acquisitions were made under the old-new mentor. Ambitions of the Eagles were clearly off the charts. However, already in the qualification of the Champions League, Benfica failed, failing to break into the group. In the championship the Eagles also suffered a fiasco. Sporting did not give even the slightest chance for a championship and Porto did not allow them to take the second line, sending Benfica to the Champions League qualification. Jesus also lost the Portuguese Cup. In the final the Eagles lost 0:2 to Braga. In the summer the club traditionally replenished the treasury. Pedrinho went to Shakhtar Donetsk, young fullback Nunu Tavares went to Arsenal, reservists Franco Cervi (Celta) and Lucas Caio (Sharjah) also left the club. Of the acquisitions, it makes sense to single out the signing of Roman Yaremchuk from Ghent and Sualiho Meite, who showed himself well in Torino and Milan.
