Sassuolo

Sassuolo has assembled a decent squad, with which Alessio Dionisi can reasonably aim for a place in the top half of the table. They opened the season with a Coppa Italia match against “Cosenza.” They couldn’t beat the opponent in regular time, as the “Wolves” held on to a 2-2 draw, but in extra time, the opponent fell apart, and “Sassuolo” scored three goals. In the league, however, they have yet to earn points. In the first round, the “Neroverdi” looked decent against “Atalanta,” but failed to convert their opportunities, and the “Goddess” punished them with two goals in the final moments. In Naples in the last round, “Sassuolo” couldn’t hope for much, but even so, they managed to disappoint – a 0-2 defeat to “Napoli” pushed the team to the bottom of the table.

Verona

Verona played a survival match against “Spezia” last season, in which they managed to secure a victory and stay in Serie A – a well-deserved achievement. Maurizio Setti decided to forgo experiments and appointed a specialist in working with underdogs, Marco Baroni, who, in the previous season, successfully kept “Lecce” in Serie A. So far, this move has fully justified itself. “Verona” unexpectedly defeated “Empoli” 1-0 in the first round, capitalizing on one of their few chances. In the last round, at home, the “Mastiffs” punished “Roma” for defensive mistakes, winning 2-1. This victory allowed them to rise to fourth place in the table after two rounds.
