Salernitana

Last season, Salernitana miraculously saved themselves and drew conclusions – in the summer, the “sea horses” significantly strengthened their squad. In the first round, Davide Nicola skillfully coped with the “turbulence” of his team and did not allow it to fall into serious prolonged crises. Salernitana held on at a distance from the relegation zone and looked good in terms of their play in the first half of the championship. However, it was not possible to go through the entire season without issues, the “sea horses” had a string of failures and dismissed the coach twice – the second time was final. Paulo Sousa, who took over the rather disjointed and crisis-ridden team, immediately put everything in order and made the team improve – currently, Salernitana is 15th in the table and is nine points away from the relegation zone. Having drawn 1-1 with Spezia in the last round, Salernitana extended their unbeaten run to five matches.

Inter

Inter definitely bet on the championship title and had all the reasons to do so – in terms of player selection, Simone Inzaghi’s team was arguably the strongest in Serie A. However, already in the first round, Inter allowed themselves to have several unsuccessful series, allowing Napoli and other competitors to take a serious lead. At the moment, the question is no longer about the fight for the title, mainly Inter is concentrating on the battle for a place in the top four. With 50 points, Inter is currently in fourth place in the table and is ahead of fifth-placed Roma only due to additional indicators. Losing 0-1 to Fiorentina in the last round, Inter suffered its third consecutive defeat. The first semifinal match against Juventus in Turin almost ended in a fiasco, but Romelu Lukaku’s precise penalty kick in the end allowed Inter to keep the intrigue before the return match.
