Saint-Etienne 

One of the most decorated clubs in France has returned to the top division after a two-year break. A lackluster transfer campaign and a poor start to the season have shown that the team faces many challenges, and avoiding relegation will be incredibly difficult.

Saint-Étienne has lost all three Ligue 1 matches and remains the only team without a single goal scored. The latest defeat, a crushing 0-4 loss to Brest, dealt a heavy blow to the “Greens'” ambitions.

Lille

Lille’s start to the new season has been decent. The players are still adapting to the demands of Bruno Génésio, who replaced Paulo Fonseca as head coach, and on the domestic front, the “Dogs” have only lost to PSG.

On the European stage, Lille defeated Fenerbahçe and Slavia Prague on their way to the main draw of the UEFA Champions League. These interim results can be considered successful.
