Aston Villa
Against all odds, the Birmingham team managed to struggle through the first stage of the FA Cup when they bested West Ham with a score of 2-1, even though they performed poorly in the first half of the game. Importantly, this win was achieved after nine losses and one draw in their last twelve matches (1 draw, 9 losses).
Emery’s side last season was defeated in the Round of 16 against Chelsea (0-0 and 1-3). Aston Villa have only reached the FA Cup final once in the last two decades and that was in the 2014/15 season when they were embarrassingly thrashed by Arsenal 0-4. Last week, Villa lost away against Wolverhampton 0-2, yet still managed to maintain the 8th position in the Premier League table.

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham too endured a tough previous round in the FA Cup where they came out victorious against Tamworth after extra time with a score of 3-0 (0-0). Spurs have had a dismal run of form for the last couple of years as they were eliminated in the Round of 16 last season losing a close match against Manchester City 0-1.
Strangely enough, Tottenham has not won the FA Cup since 1991 and has not reached the final since then. They were smashed 0-4 by Liverpool in the English League Cup midweek and also suffered a loss in the Premier League. Regardless, the Spurs were able to grab an away win, 2-0 over Brentford. Even so, the club is having a poor season sitting in 14th place in the table.
