Arsenal

London’s Arsenal has had a very successful start to this season’s Premier League campaign, opening up new opportunities in the race for the title. After finishing second in the league for two consecutive seasons, the Gunners are clearly determined to make the decisive step towards the trophy. In the first six rounds, they only dropped points against Brighton and Manchester City (1-1 and 2-2 respectively).

At the same time, Arsenal secured confident victories over Wolverhampton and Aston Villa (both 2-0), as well as Tottenham and Leicester (1-0 and 4-2). These results place the team in third position in the table. Additionally, Mikel Arteta’s side defeated PSG 2-0 in the Champions League in midweek, following a goalless draw away to Atalanta (0-0).

Southampton

Returning to the Premier League after a year in the Championship, Southampton has faced difficulties early in the season. Russell Martin’s team has unfortunately struggled to adapt to the top-flight level. In their first six matches, the Saints have earned just one point, drawing with fellow newcomer Ipswich (1-1).

Their other games have resulted in defeats: losses to Newcastle and Nottingham (0-1), as well as Brentford and Bournemouth (both 1-3), and Manchester United (0-3), leaving the red-and-whites in second-to-last place in the table.
