Sassuolo

For Sassuolo, the current season is turning out to be dreadful. If in previous years the “black-green” team was a solid mid-table presence in Serie A, showcasing open and entertaining football, now we see nothing of the sort. In the early stages of the championship, they tried to maintain their previous level of play, but with each passing month, their performance deteriorated. In the last six rounds, they suffered five defeats with an overall score of 4-14, earning only a point in a battle with Torino – 1:1. Such weak results leave Sassuolo in 17th place in the standings, with the relegation zone in close proximity.

For Napoli, the current season is also proving to be very challenging. In the summer, Aurelio De Laurentiis failed to reach an agreement with Luciano Spalletti on a contract extension, leading to a coaching carousel in the club. Rudy Garcia quickly took the helm but was fired, Walter Mazzarri failed to connect with the players and was also dismissed. Now, Francesco Calzona is attempting to lead the “sky-blue” team out of the crisis, with varied results. In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, his team drew with Barcelona – 1:1, and in the 26th Serie A match, they shared points with Cagliari – 1:1, remaining in ninth place in the standings.
