Dallas Mavericks
The leader of Dallas in the 2023 Summer League is Jaden Hardy, a guard who has previously started in the main team last season. Hardy was also the top scorer for the Mavericks in the first game against Oklahoma, scoring 24 points. However, his performance couldn’t help Dallas win as they lost 80-91. Apart from Hardy, only two players scored over 10 points. Second-year guard AJ Lawson scored 11 points, and rookie Brandon Randolph scored 10.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers are of particular interest this summer because they are now led by Nick Nurse, the new head coach of the team. Under the Canadian coach’s guidance, Philadelphia had a decent tournament in Salt Lake City, losing to Oklahoma (91-100), narrowly falling to Memphis (92-94), and confidently defeating Utah (104-94). After moving to Las Vegas, Philly played one game and defeated the New York Knicks 110-101. The entire starting lineup of the 76ers looked good, with each player finishing the game with a positive plus-minus. Jaden Springer scored 23 points, Javonte Smart scored 17, Rikky Council had 14, while Filip Petrusev and Terk Smith each scored 13.
