Juventus

Juventus was considered one of the contenders for the Scudetto before the start of the season, which is not surprising given the quality of players assembled by coach Massimiliano Allegri. After a disappointing start, the “Old Lady” returned to the top three in the first half of the season but once again found themselves in the bottom half of the table due to a 15-point deduction. Those points were eventually returned to “Juventus,” and until recently, the Turin-based team held the second position. However, they were once again deducted 10 points due to non-sporting reasons. The unpleasant news came a few hours before the match against “Empoli,” which Juventus lost 1-4 away. As a result, with two rounds remaining in the championship, the “Old Lady” is in seventh place in the table, trailing fourth-placed “Milan” by five points.

Milan

Milan clearly had hopes of defending their title and had a solid start, briefly putting pressure on the rapidly distancing “Napoli.” However, the team led by Stefano Pioli gradually fell out of the title race and even dropped out of the top four on a few occasions. Attempts by “Milan” to reach the Champions League final were unsuccessful. In the clash against “Inter,” they were defeated in the semifinals. In Serie A, taking into account the deduction of 10 points from Juventus, “Milan” is currently in fourth place, three points ahead of fifth-placed “Atalanta.” With a 5-1 victory over “Sampdoria” in the last round, the “Rossoneri” secured their 18th win of the season.
